| Remark | Kitsch & Kunst - Gemälde, Film, Foto, Literatur personalisiert; tekening Leidsevaartweg 1 Heemstede, GEBOUW VOOR DE BLOEMBOLLENCULTUUR - built between 1924 and 1928 by architect J. Zietsma according to a style that can be called the sleek version of the Amsterdam School. The building is situated on the Leidsevaartweg, which runs east of the Leiden-Haarlem railway line, about four kilometers south of the Heemstede / Aerdenhout station. The complex is placed on the narrow strip of land between Leidsevaart and the railway line and is surrounded by a garden. From 1957 some changes were made that did not, however, damage the monumental value of the whole. |
